WATCH: PM Modi gifts Melody toffee to Giorgia Meloni

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a special gift from India to his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni – a packet of Parle’s Melody toffee – during his trip to Rome.

Meloni has yet again sent social media into a frenzy as she shared a video of Prime Minister Modi gifting her the packet of toffee.

The short clip features both PM Modi and Meloni holding a packet full of the popular Indian chocolates.

In the beginning, the Iranian Prime Minister said, “Prime Minister Modi brought as a gift a very, very good toffee.”

“Melody”, added Prime Minister Modi.

While sharing the clip on X, Meloni wrote, “Thank you for the gift”.

PM Modi’s gift to his Italian counterpart was a fitting tribute to the highly popular #Melodi memes that go viral on social media whenever the two leaders meet. Notably, ‘#Melodi’ is a portmanteau of Modi and Meloni’s names. As per reports, the phrase first gained traction during the COP28 Summit in 2023.
